What are some great vegetarian recipes?

im tryna go vegetarian. ive been thinking about this for awhile ever since i saw something on tv that was completely horrible and disgusting. but i dont know if ill be able to pull through. so i was thinking if you guys gave me some yummy veggetarian recipes it will help me.

especially breakfast foods. give me lots. i think it will be very hard for me to give up baccon, sausage, scrapple and corn beaf hash. and some good salad ideas, i usually put a lot of baccon or chicken in my salad so i need some different toppings.

what do you prefer, vanilla, soy or rice milk??

does tofu really taste good?? im afraid to try it lol

and if you have any tips theyre greatly appreciated

thanks!

I also really would recommend vegweb.com, it is an amazing resource where all of us veggie lovers share our favorite recipes and the photo feature is great, you can see just how yummy things look.

Other terrific websites include vegan blogs, I really like

veganyumyum.com for gourmet type dishes and

veganfeastkitchen.blogspot.com for AMAZING meat substitute recipes, Bryanna the author is fantastic and I own several of her cookbooks and I can highly suggest them if you continue on in your path towards vegetarianism. :)

I honestly like all sorts of milk substitutes. Almond milk is amazingly yummy! Rice milk is a bit thinner but very nice. If you are going to go soymilk, please shop around. Many brands can have a chalky aftertaste and this puts so many people off it makes me really sad :( My absolute favorite brand is VitaSoy, search it out, the Soy Milky (in Australia) and Creamy Original (in US) are the names of the best VitaSoy flavors in my opinion. But everyones tastes are different and its important to keep trying until you find one you like. :)

As for Tofu - the best thing about Tofu is that it absorbs flavors so you can marinate it in flavors you like and it can come out yummy. I don't recommend eating it plain. You can also buy premarinated tofu and vegetarian products made from tofu/soy protein.

For the bacon and chicken on the salad: Did you know there are vegetarian style ';bacon bits'; those are pretty good. Also try searching for Soy Curls, they also absorb flavors when you cook them up and are yummy on salad. And back to vegweb, please look up the tofu ';bacon'; recipe made with liquid smoke and braggs(soy amino complex), totally delicious. One of my favorite ways to enjoy tofu!
