Don't go vegetarian unless you can get vitamins and such to make up for the protein you'll be missing.
As for recipes:

Hey, I'm vegetarian and I admire you for sticking up to your family and doing this and I know you can prove them wrong. I'm 15 and I have been vgetarian for my entire life. I love having pasta allot, you can cut up your favourite veggies to put into the sauce to make it better. You could also add some soy beef,(people who eat meat say that they love it, so you could make it for your family too.) Buy the brand Yves, you can just fry it up. Also, veggie burgers are unbelievably good. They are so much healthier and taste so good. While your parents are eating fish or chicken, you can just fry it (it takes less then 10 minutes to cook and you can tell that it's ready when it's warm and it's almost impossible to overcook). So, because you are probably not that experienced of a cook, it's easy and you can just eat it with ketchup and veggies on the side. Beans are a good source of protein wich most vegetarians lack. You can pick out your favourite kind, add your favourite spices, some oil and balsamic vinegar and some veggies to make a cool salad. for lunches, pita and hummus is a good thing to eat. Or any other dip.I hope your family sees that this isn't a joke and that becoming a vegetarian is an unbelievably great thing to do. Oh, also it is good to have allot of nuts for snacks. Peanut butter is good too. Of course salad is always a healthy option as well. Good luck! I hope you can prove your family wrong.
don't listen to people telling u not to be a vegetarian..
there are plenty of things to replace meat such as
eggs/nuts/beans and plenty more..
you can try breaded tofu..
Cut tofu into 1/2 inch pieces and dip it in italian breading..
then fry it..when its golden brown..poor spegetti sauce over it with mozzerella cheese sprinkled..
You can also have egg salad sandwiches
or you can make an easy bean chili or bean soup
There plenty of things just look it up on the web..
I hope this helps and dont ever let anyone make u feel like what your doing is some how wrong..because when you go by what you stand for and believe in..then your never wrong
talk to your doctor to make sure you're getting enough protein, nutrients, etc (the ones usually found in meat) in your diet. Also make sure you're taking a multivitamin everyday. And eat the deeply colored fruits and veggies. You're still growing and if you don't eat right you could do some major damage that will stay with you the rest of your life.
All recipes.com and go vegetarian. I hope that your parents are going to pay for the food. It will be costly . and you might have more trips to
the store. Frozen is second choice for healthy meals . Watch your sodium intake with frozen.Meatless /soy dishes are good.
I hope you have weaned yourself away from sugar.
It is not an easy task .
i exactly the same, my daughter is a picky 13year old veggie.
stuffed potato skins? there ery easy too make and very yummy!
have you tried the quorn products? cooks just like meat, (20 mins in the oven or w/e) and there very nice :)
I can't imagine why you are doing this. I'd listen to your parents rather than putting them down. Are you related to obama? That's a page out of his book.
In any case, here is an answer to your question:

your too young to make desicions like that. You don't have enough knowledge to make such a bold life choice. Do not become a vegetarian now, wait a few years until you are smarter and then make the desicion

Salad
Here is what i like
Maggi ( its readymade you just have to boil it.)
Bhel
I am Brazilian and I don't speak English well.
I suffer with chronic renal inadequacy. for that reason me I cannot eat meat. Here in Brazil it is common to sale of soy meat. You can make all the recipe that use meat milled with the soy meat. it is difficult to know the difference among the two after the ready recipe. The soy meat is very cheap here in Brazil. a kilo costs USD $1,00 and after moisturized it is equal to 3 kilos of meat.
it is very easy of you prepare it is only to increase boiling water. I put an oil little bit, salt pricked onion and kneaded garlic let to fry a little bit and I increase the soy dries, I put boiling water to the little for not flooding the meat too much when I notice that the meat is moisturized I don't increase more water.
with that soy meat you can make meat cake, lasagna the Bolognese, meat saut茅ed with rice, and all the recipe that use milled meat, only substituting the cattle meat for the of soy.
2 types of soy meat exist one is clear and it imitates the chicken meat and the other increases carrot to be with the beef appearance.
Roast of soy meat
Ingredients: 1 glass of integral wheat flour, 1/2 glass of common wheat flour, 1 glass of milk, 1/2 maizena glass, 50g of grated cheese, 1 spoon of ferment, 2 eggs, salt.
Preparation way: Beat all of the ingredients in the blender, except the ferment that should almost be beaten time. (the mass this homogeneous one is observed, in case it is not, add a more little of milk.)
Stuffing: 1 glass of protein of soy white or dark already moisturized, egg, seasonings, tomato, onion, bell pepper, green smell, olives and salt to I like, saut茅 all above of the ingredients without sauce.
Anoint a medium dish, with margarine, sprinkle with flour integral or common, spill half of the mass in the dish and the stuffing and for top the remaining of the mass. Roast until gilding ( the ingredients of the mass should be beaten when the stuffing is already ready.)
Don't listen to people who will tell you that you are too young to make a decision like this, that you are disrespecting your parents, or that you will be nutrient-deficient. None of these things are true. You are old enough to make your own decisions, and as long as you are responsible and diligent about eating healthily, you will be fine.
My first advice would be to read this book: http://www.amazon.com/Teens-Guide-Going-鈥?/a>
A Teen's Guide to Going Vegetarian by Judy Krizmanic. Great book, has a lot of nutrition information and advice and recipes. I picked up a copy at my local library when I was 14.
A great website for recipes is http://www.vegweb.com Just go to the recipes section and you can browse by type of food. They have all kinds of recipes there from simple to complicated, breakfasts, baked goods, soups, casseroles, pastas.... pretty much everything. Another good website to visit is http://www.veggieboards.com It's a vegetarian board room, and not only do they have recipes but you can ask questions and get support from other vegetarians.
You say that you are picky, but you don't say what you do or do not like. Also, I don't know how well you know how to cook. If you don't know how, you'll learn. But for now, here are some easy ideas:
Lunch:
Peanut butter and jelly sandwich (or other nut butters like almond or sunflower)
Hummus and veggie sandwich on pita bread or whole wheat bread (cut up cucumbers, bell peppers, tomatoes and sprouts are a good combo)
Vegetarian chili- you can find this in the freezer section of your grocery store, heat it up and put it in a thermos to take to school.
Veggie burrito- you can put vegetarian refried beans, rice, lettuce, tomatoes and other veggies in a big tortilla.
Salad- Get romaine or field greens, avocado, tomatoes and other veggies. Add on some cooked beans (kidney beans or chickpeas work well) and roasted sunflower seeds for extra protein and flavor.
Dips- You can bring containers of hummus, baba ganouj, refried bean dip and guacamole and various veggies, crackers and pita bread wedges to dip in them.
For snacks/sides you can bring fruit, trail mix, popcorn, pretzels, granola bars.... the possibilities are endless.
Dinner:
You can basically do any of the stuff you eat for lunch for dinner, but here are more ideas:
Whole wheat pasta with marinara sauce- Pasta is super easy to prepare and you can find many different marinara sauces pre-made at the store. Check ingredients label for animal ingredients.
Vegetarian casseroles or stew- You can find a recipe on http://www.vegweb.com
Homemade pizza- Find a pre-made pizza crust that is vegetarian and put marinara sauce, cheese (if you eat it) and different sliced veggies- tomatoes, garlic, eggplant, zucchini, and spinach are great. Then bake it in the oven according to instructions.
There are so many delicious, easy things you can make! Definitely read the book I recommended and visit those sites! Good luck!
